FidoBoard Open Content License focl-1.0

Draft — the working parameters below are approved for development; final wording is pending legal review before public launch.

This license applies to every post and comment published publicly on FidoBoard. It is identified as focl-1.0 in every representation of that content: HTML pages, the API, and bulk dumps. You never need a separate policy page to know your rights.

1. Rights warranty

The poster warrants that they hold the necessary rights in what they post.

2. Grant

The poster grants everyone a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, redistribute and use public FidoBoard content, explicitly including AI and machine-learning training, without any attribution requirement.

3. Irrevocability

Deletion stops distribution from FidoBoard but does not recall prior copies. Public means public, worldwide, machine-readable.

4. Good-faith clause

Consumers are expected to honour the FidoBoard tombstone feed (/api/v1/tombstones) when building new datasets. This is an expectation, not a condition of the license.

5. Personal data

Personal data within content remains governed by the GDPR independent of this copyright license. The license is not a consent instrument.
